A Day at Dirtbaby Farm

  • Organic Community Gardens at the Schuylkill Center (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Join us for a full day of events, including a farm tour, volunteer activities, a workshop with Amalia, and a film showing. This event is presented in partnership with Da Vinci Art Alliance’s Everyday Futures Fest.

All are welcome! Children must have adult supervision at all times.

Our RAIN DATE for this event is APRIL 27th.

Schedule for the day:

2ish-3pm farm tour and introduction to our business and the space

3pm-4:30pm farm work, volunteer tasks – we will provide a range of activities for various abilities ranging from, bed preparation to turning compost to rebuilding and repairing fencing.

4:30pm-5:30pm lesson with Amalia about “how to grow your relationship to food ways”

We all hold deep connections to food. Memories. Stories. How can we radically imagine ways of building a deeper connection to the land through food, growing, cooking, and health. This workshop will begin with a presentation followed by a community discussion, and end with a short creative writing activity. You will learn practical ways on how to be more environmentally conscious in your home and growing space. The presentation is an approach to working with what you have and working with what interests you to grow your personal impact on climate change. No experience necessary!! All levels of growers, cooks, land workers, artists, students, etc. welcome! The more diverse participation we have the more ideas/solutions we will have for a better future.

5:30pm-7pm farm work, volunteer tasks

7pm-7:45pm short film!! Hang, relax, clean-up and close the space

Click the link below for detailed directions to the farm — simply routing yourself to the Community Gardens address listed will take you to the wrong place!
